How it works, and how to reach a person.

A daily colour hunt. One colour lands each day — the same one for everyone — and you go and photograph something that matches it. Your phone scores how close you got. It takes a few minutes.

Your photo is broken into small regions, each region is converted into CIELAB — a colour space built so that equal numeric distances look like equal differences to the eye — and each one is compared to the target using CIEDE2000, the standard measure of how far apart two colours are.

Two things matter: how close the match is, and how much of the frame it fills. A small perfect patch and a large near-miss score differently. A washed-out version of the right hue counts as a weaker find than a saturated one.

All of this runs on your phone. That code makes no network calls at all, so it works with no signal, and nothing about your photo is sent anywhere to be scored.

Only the ones you put in front of a crew. When you fill a crew's grid, that photo is uploaded so your crew can see it, and it's stored with the round it belongs to.

Solo finds stay on your device — and in your iCloud backup, which Apple manages, not Huxle. Photos are saved to your Photos library only if you turn that setting on; it's off unless you do.

No. Huxle works entirely on its own, and nothing in the game waits on anyone else turning up. A crew makes the same daily colour a shared thing, but it's an addition, not a requirement.

There is a streak — it counts the days you found the colour — and there are optional reminders tied to it.

Notifications are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off again in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings. If you skip a day, you lose the count and nothing else.

No email and no password. Huxle makes an anonymous guest account tied to your device the first time you open it. You can set a display name so a crew can recognise you, and that's optional too.

In the app: Settings, then delete your account. That removes your account and the data stored with it on the server.

Signing out instead is a lighter option — it starts a fresh guest account on your device and leaves the old one alone.

Usually light. A colour photographed in deep shade or in direct sun measures a long way from the same colour indoors — that's a real difference, not a bug, and it's why the pool avoids very light colours that wash out in the sun.

If a find looks obviously wrong, send the photo and the colour name. Those get looked at individually.
